Pleasure Products: From Concept to Creation is being held in London on Friday 1st March.
Whether you work in the industry, write product reviews, or have an interest in how toys come to market, this unique event will be both educational and entertaining with talks from the below panel of experts:
Emma Podmore – Sextoys.co.uk
Emma Podmore is the Marketing Guru of Sextoys.co.uk – part of the larger organisation, Net 1on1 which operates as a retailer, wholesalers and drop-shipping company here in the UK.
Her background in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Retail and Design, plus a kinky, forward thinking mind make her an ideal key speaker for Pleasure Products: From Concept to Creation.
Emma manages all aspects of PR from social media to writing content for The Vibe blog and she will be sharing her knowledge of today’s products, including current trends, how and why the market has evolved in recent years, plus giving us some inside knowledge of some of the biggest sellers.
Later in the evening, after having a go at designing your own pleasure product, Emma will be back to talk about how she markets toys – through social media especially – and she’ll lend a hand, offering suggestions for your designs.
Like all of our speakers, Emma is open to questions and is ready for a fun night!
Stu Nugent – Ann Summers
Stu Nugent is the Brand Copywriter at Ann Summers. With over 140 stores across the UK it is one of the best known companies of sex toys and lingerie, attracting thousands of customers daily.
Close to a decade’s worth of experience within the adult industry has seen Stu co-managing various online retailers, designing artwork, photographing events and writing televised adverts and so the knowledge he’ll be sharing at Pleasure Products: From Concept to Creation is sure to be invaluable whether you are currently working in the market or have an interest in writing and design work for industry corporations.
Kicking off the evening with a brief history of pleasure products, from the very first that we now know of to exploring cultural progress, Stu will then return to the table to speak about the process of naming and branding toys before they hit the shelves and give tips to make yours stand out from the crowd. Like Emma, he will be having some fun, suggesting straplines for your own designs and is happy to answer your questions throughout the night.

Susan Quilliam – Leading Author and Sex & Relationships Councilor
Susan Quilliam is a Relationship and Sex Coach, Columnist for The Cliterati and author of 21 books on love and sex including a radical update of the classic manual, The Joy of Sex.
She’s also – along with a small production team – nearing the final stages of putting a new toy on the market and she will be sharing her experiences and insights with you at Pleasure Products: From Concept to Creation.
From researching the initial idea, hooking up with designers and manufacturers, gaining feedback on prototypes, and moving the project forward in search of distributors, Susan will tell her story of developing a
brand new product, including difficulties met and successes gained.
Her first-hand knowledge is sure to be both entertaining and advantageous to anyone considering or in the process of any of the above steps – and with her warm, feel good personality, she is bound to inspire a new level to any written or artistic work.
